FIVE PICTURE FRIDAY!!

The Boy Scout Tree Trail

Taken May 11, 2024

I’ve been fortunate to visit this trail in Jedediah Smith State Park (California Redwoods National Park) multiple times. A top 10 hike in my experience - easily accessible in reality - yet otherworldly and remote in spirit. The camera fails to capture the immensity and stature of the Redwoods, the feeling of being in the midst of such biomass, the quiet, the cool coastal air. Armchair travel does not suffice…you have to walk among the towering giants and the ferns at least once in this lifetime.

About “Five Picture Friday”

Every other Friday, I produce a short photo-essay on an interesting location. I try to capture the essence of the place, distilled down into a few images. It’s a fun way to practice my photography, and I hope you enjoy a little armchair travel!
