FIVE PICTURE FRIDAY!!

Old Buildings of Waco

Taken March 26, 2024

Growing up in Waco, Texas exposed me to a surprisingly interesting array of architecture, concentrated in its stuttering Downtown. As noted in an earlier post, the area was decimated by a record setting Tornado in 1953. Yet there remains a diverse set of structures ranging across architectural styles. Art Deco, Neo-classical, Mid-Century modern, and the ever-present, utilitarian brick warehouses and retail facades of early 20th century Main Street America. For a kid, not a bad locale to foster a life-long fascination with our urban landscapes.

About “Five Picture Friday”

Every other Friday, I produce a short photo-essay on an interesting location. I try to capture the essence of the place, distilled down into a few images. It’s a fun way to practice my photography, and I hope you enjoy a little armchair travel!
