FIVE PICTURE FRIDAY!!

The Wildwood Trail

Taken October 27, 2023

Forest Park drapes across western Portland like a wrinkled, green blanket. With over 5,200 acres of ‘urban wilderness’, it’s a montage of gullies, fern-laden slopes, trails, creeks, and mossy forest. Snaking through it all is the legendary Wildwood Trail, nearly 30 miles of natural splendor within the city limits. At all hours, the Wildwood Trail hosts hikers, birders, runners, bikers, naturalists, tourists - and anyone seeking respite from the concrete jungle.

About “Five Picture Friday”

Every other Friday, I produce a short photo-essay on an interesting location. I try to capture the essence of the place, distilled down into a few images. It’s a fun way to practice my photography, and I hope you enjoy a little armchair travel!
