FIVE PICTURE FRIDAY!! - Queens Park
Classic community soccer in West London
Taken November 1, 2024
The EFL Championship football club - Queens Park F.C. - represents old school English soccer from decades past. Literally and culturally embedded in the West London neighborhood of Shepard’s Bush, the Rangers take the field in the venerable Loftus Road stadium every weekend. Neighbors and fans step out of their flats and walkups - some of which back right up to the stadium - to meet with friends, attend the match, and chant and sing for their community club.
About “Five Picture Friday”
Every other Friday, I produce a short photo-essay on an interesting location. I try to capture the essence of the place, distilled down into a few images. It’s a fun way to practice my photography, and I hope you enjoy a little armchair travel!
