FIVE PICTURE FRIDAY! - Resort!

We have all been there - the manicured grounds, the climate appropriate landscaping, the casitas and swimming pools set amongst the grandeur of the mountains. Yet something feels artificial, sanitized, made safe for the middle-class. Here at a vacation destination - Gateway Canyons Resort, a truly magnificent setting along the Colorado/Utah border - you can’t help feel a little skeptical of the lush green grass in the middle of the desert, and wonder if the objective is a to connect with nature or escape from reality.

About “Five Picture Friday”

Every other Friday, I produce a short photo-essay on an interesting location. I try to capture the essence of the place, distilled down into a few images. It’s a fun way to practice my photography, and I hope you enjoy a little armchair travel!
