FIVE PICTURE FRIDAY! - Teotihuacan

Ancient pyramids in the Valley of Mexico.

Taken February 15, 2026

Teotihuacan is an ancient city in an area overrun with ancient cities. A bit northeast of Mexico City, the ruins emerge from the valley floor in shapes that echo the distant mountains. Intricate stonework and rows of pyramids draw visitors along the central causeway, inviting speculation and wonder at the sheer scale and age of the site. Vendors and tour guides steer the crowds from one spectacle to the next, reciting legends of jaguar gods and mysteries of a civilization that was old even to the Aztecs.

About “Five Picture Friday”

Every other Friday, I produce a short photo-essay on an interesting location. I try to capture the essence of the place, distilled down into a few images. It’s a fun way to practice my photography, and I hope you enjoy a little armchair travel!

Want a print?

For those desperate for some wall decor or simply infatuated with one of my photos, prints are now available for a nominal fee - basically ‘at cost’. Send me an email with your request, and I’ll make it happen.
