FIVE PICTURE FRIDAY! - The Crags
Rocky wilderness in central Colorado.
Taken June 20, 2025
On the western slope of Pikes Peak, a series of trails snakes up and around the mountain. The pathway to the Crags drifts up through the aspen forest to a series of jagged, rock outcroppings. There, lichen covered stone and windswept, gnarly trees struggle to maintain coherence in the exposed altitude. A short, rewarding hike, The Crags brings you up close and personal to the grit and splendor of the Rocky Mountains.

About “Five Picture Friday”
Every other Friday, I produce a short photo-essay on an interesting location. I try to capture the essence of the place, distilled down into a few images. It’s a fun way to practice my photography, and I hope you enjoy a little armchair travel!
Want a print?
For those desperate for some wall decor or simply infatuated with one of my photos, prints are now available for a nominal fee - basically ‘at cost’. Send me an email with your request, and I’ll make it happen.
